Chainsaws, handcuffs and exploding chairs may not be the stuff of everyday life for most of us, but for Peter McCahon they are all just tools of the trade! A creative evangelist for the last fifteen years he uses Magic, Comedy & Escapology to present the gospel in a unique and stimulating way!
Peter specialises in showing how the gospel can be communicated effectively and powerfully through seeker friendly, cringe free events. Suitable for all those keen to reach out to their community and explode the myth of church life as being dull and boring, seeking instead to show how Christianity is alive and relevant for today.

Small - Men’s Breakfasts etc.Smaller events offer the opportunity to chat, answer questions and present the message in a very laid back fashion interspersed with amusing stories and smaller sleight of hand illusions. Experience has shown that this works well in smaller youth groups, men’s breakfasts and even prison visits etc.
Medium - Cabaret, Services etc.Peter’s manic style of presentation combines comedy mixed with supposedly gory and ‘dangerous’ magic, definitely not for the kids but parents will love him! Peter is widely used by Churches looking to reach out to their local community, neighbours and friends. Whether it be an Alpha supper, seeker event, church anniversary or just a special service Peter’s stand up show is a great way to break the ice and introduce the topic of the gospel in a ‘safe’ cringe free environment.
Large - Festivals etc.Peter is experienced in performing at this sort of event having appeared many times at a wide range of events including Greenbelt, Spring Harvest, Easter People, Roots, Baptist Union Conferences, Firm Foundations, New Wine, Soul Survivor and most recently Soul in the City. He is equally at home in after hours events, arts cafes or just compering between acts.
BackgroundAfter training at Moorlands Bible College, Peter spent six and a half years working first with ‘Youth With A Mission’ and then the ‘Oasis Trust’ . He then became independent and now travels as an itinerant Creative Evangelist. Peter’s aim is to present the gospel in a fast, funny and thrill-filled manner. He reflects the need to pause and examine the ‘mystery’ of the gospel without losing sight of its essential joy and excitement.
A professional magician for the last fifteen years, Peter is a member of the world renowned Magic Circle and the International Fellowship of Christian Magicians.
Television WorkJanuary 2003 saw Peter starring in Channel Five’s new prime time comedy magic show ‘Monkey Magic’ . This was followed up by a series entitled ‘The Greatest Magic Tricks in the Universe... Ever’ . The second series of ‘Monkey Magic’ is currently awaiting a transmission date from Channel Five.
